Last night we hosted an evening of Flambé with our great friend Roberto. With classic dishes going back to his days at Café Royal, he served up a flamboyant and rather indulgent, 6 course supper.
Delicate smoked salmon with buttered brown bread, prawn cocktail with Marie Rose sauce, wonderfully light crab cakes, silky smooth and smokey Penne Alla Vodka, Steak Diane as tender as we’ve ever tasted and all finished off with some perfectly bitter, sweet Crepes Suzette.
It reminded us all of the old ways, of showmanship and excitement, wonderfully honest food cooked and served before our very eyes. Lino helped out on Flambé whilst Sarah ensured everybody had an amazing time as usual, what a great night, one to remember and one we might just repeat.
