MUSICAL MONTH OF MAY
SINGALONG SUNDAY AT BOBOLI

And now for something a bit different, the Kibworth Ladies Choir and special guests will be performing at Boboli.
The Kibworth Ladies Choir will be singing some of their new songs, with their guest guitarist, Ken, playing along too, and they would love you to join them for a bit of a ‘singalong’ on Bank Holiday Sunday.
Special guests, Peter and his band will be playing a set to take us into the evening; they’ll have you singing along to some of their favourites, such as Valerie, The Summer of ’69, I Wanna Be Like You, Saw Her Standing There, plus songs by Green Day, The Killers and Snow Patrol.

Jazz lovers will be pleased to hear that Sven Klangs Jazzband are back. The Sven Klangs Jazzband are a regular feature here at Boboli, and from the very first notes of the swinging double bass you know you’re in for a great evening of jazz tunes.
Relax with a glass of prosecco, as the tenor sax and rhythm section get you in the party mood with some of the best tunes from Duke Ellington, Carlos Jobim, and Jerome Kern.

A GOURMET EVENING AT BOBOLI
The Italian Job with Ben and Emma from Bat & Bottle

We are so excited to be hosting our first Gourmet Evening of 2013 and wanted you to be the first to know. The evening will be held in the conservatory overlooking our very own Giardini di Boboli, so spaces will be limited.
The ever cheerful, and vaguely bonkers, Ben will be leading another raid into Italy’s most treasured vineyards, with solid British stirling! We will sparkle with the fizzy Falerio from Marche, keep it organic and biodynamic with Verdiccio di San Gimignano, following on with the best Gavi on the market, softening it all up with the sublime, pink Rosato del Salento ‘SantiMedici’, a light ‘springy’ Santa Magdalener and then the Refosco Superiore to finish on a deep, spicy note – quite a revelation!
Lino’s challenge is to plan a menu that will keep up with this whistle stop tour of Italia!

We’ve been holding Boboli Bazaars for a while now, and each time they seem to get better and better. We’re always impressed with the sheer quality and inspiration of local craftspeople and range of goodies available, and together with a lively crowd, these mornings really are wonderful. They’re all in aid of a great charity; Hope Against Cancer too
